The formation of farmer groups with farmers programs in Seven Forks, Kenya and Dokolo, Uganda has been beneficial for both Better Globe Forestry and also the participant farmers. Working with Better Globe Forestry in this regard helps farmer groups with things like breaking the barrier of community based organizations, increasing cost effectiveness, and engaging farmers in production of seedlings. The exercise of group formation involves a lot of training and monitoring from our agroforestry agents, farmer group formation officers, and site managers, all of which is overseen by a coordination manager based at the head office in Nairobi.
