As an indigenous African tree species, Acacia senegal is a versatile tree that can withstand extreme climactic conditions and fully adapt to environmental changes, much like the mukau tree. However, this species produces a special substance known as gum arabic, which is useful in many commercial applications. Better Globe Forestry is currently growing Acacia senegal on trial plantations in Kenya, and hopes to establish a basis for raw material and commercialize the species five years from now. The possibilities for Acacia senegal are endless, and it is true that even one tree can make a world of difference.
