With an increased need for mechanization due to growth and sometimes labour shortages, Better Globe Forestry received tractors for improvement in field operations. These tractors are designed to help with pitting, seedling and water transport, and other tasks that would be costly without mechanized technology.

Better Globe Forestry's farmers program

Better Globe Forestry’s farmers program is a commercial win-win venture where Better Globe Forestry donates a number of seedlings to local farmers, who then commit to raise and maintain the same number of seedlings for Better Globe Forestry. Better Globe Forestry offers the market as the contract says the company will buy the trees at maturity. Additionally the overall result is re-greening of the countryside. Farmers are trained to plant the seedlings in an agroforestry set up. The farmers are organised in Self-help-groups and as such become part of the process as well. The program helps yield a commercial return for farmers as well as eliminate poverty in their areas.
